Frequently Asked Questions

Why do you charge for initial meetings?
Our initial meetings are thorough, allowing us to collect necessary information and create a detailed action plan. This ensures we can provide the best advice and support from the start.

What makes Collaborative Practice different?
Collaborative practice involves lawyers and other professionals working together to support clients, focusing on everyone’s interests, especially children’s. It’s a unique process where all parties commit to finding solutions without court intervention.

Can we deal with just one lawyer?
Yes, if there’s no conflict of interest, we can represent both parties. This works well for couples who want open, honest discussions and shared solutions.

We reserve the right to decline to act for more than one individual where there is a conflict of interest, both clients are not in full possession of information and facts or where the risk assessment indicates a joint approach is not suitable. If this happens, we will suggest alternative ways to resolve issues and signpost individuals to suitable services.
